Anastasia's Life and Legacy

Anastasia Genicoff, also known as "Stazi", was a force — radiant, magnetic, and impossibly full of life. From the moment she entered the world on January 3, 1996, it was clear she was born of powerful women: her mother, Jasmine Gerald, and her grandmother, Yvette Gerald — two matriarchs of strength, faith, and vision. That same divine current ran through Anastasia. She carried it everywhere she went — in her laughter, her art, her questions, and her unwavering belief that love could heal all things.

As a child, Anastasia lived in color. She was imaginative, curious, and full of wonder. She loved to dress up. Every costume was a performance, every mirror her stage. She was bright, inquisitive, and endlessly detailed. Her curiosity about the world was as wide as the sky she loved to study. She’d ask, “Mommy, what’s this? What’s that?” Anastasia was never content with surface answers, always searching for meaning beneath it all. She was joyful, artistic, and determined to leave beauty wherever she went.

In high school, she flourished in the arts  acting in plays, modeling, and captivating every room she walked into. Her sense of style was iconic; she was voted Best Dressed at graduation, and her elegance became part of her signature. She was also a scholar‐ an honor roll student who balanced intellect with imagination. After graduation, Anastasia pursued her love of beauty and healing at Christine Valmy, training as an esthetician, where she combined her artistry with compassion for others.

Even before that, she was no stranger to the creative world. She worked with Versace, modeled, designed, wrote music, and appeared in films and television — including a feature in Vogue and a role in the Netflix series The Boogie Down. Her creativity was boundless, and she approached every opportunity not for recognition, but with intention — everything she did had meaning. Whether it was a song, a sketch, or an outfit, it was never just for show; it was an expression of her soul.

Anastasia was deeply spiritual — connected to nature, the moon, the stars, and the quiet hum of the universe. She was a vegan and a passionate environmentalist who dreamed of saving the planet one plant at a time. After being diagnosed with illness, she turned even more inward — going back to college to study horticulture and planning to pursue holistic medicine. She believed healing could come from the earth, from love, and from faith. She wanted to learn how to heal others through the same compassion she carried so naturally.

Her journals reveal a woman who was profoundly self-aware and brave — one who prayed daily, not out of fear, but out of gratitude. She spoke to God often, asking for strength, clarity, and love. Even in her hardest moments, she wrote affirmations to herself: “I love you, Stazi.” She was both Anastasia, the daughter, the sister, the partner — and Stazi, the vibrant, unfiltered version of herself who lived boldly, loved deeply, and laughed loudly.

She faced heartbreak, loss, and uncertainty, yet always chose forgiveness — for herself and for others. She learned to let go, to heal, and to manifest the love she knew she deserved. She eventually found her true love, and in that love, she found peace. Through it all, she never stopped believing in light. She never stopped being kind. She never stopped being curious about the world or seeking beauty in it.

Anastasia transitioned from this world on June 9, 2025, at just 29 years old, but her energy — her essence — continues to move through everything she touched. She was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, partner, friend, activist, and artist. A lover of nature. A believer in the divine. A woman who wouldn’t harm a fly, who saw beauty in every living thing, and who lived as freely as the butterflies she adored.

And even now, her light continues to guide and inspire. She moved people not only through her art and her words but through her spirit — a quiet power that touched hearts without ever demanding attention. Though she was younger than many who admired her, she carried a wisdom and grace far beyond her years. She inspired so many people to be softer, to be gentler, to lead with love and authenticity. Even from a distance, people watched her, learned from her, and were transformed by her. Anastasia reminded us that true strength can exist in softness, that love can still be chosen after pain, and that grace can be the loudest form of power.

Anastasia’s life was a poem — filled with color, spirit, resilience, and love.
And though her wings took her beyond this world, the light she carried and her roots remain— a reminder that even the softest souls can be the strongest forces of all.
